It starts with a BANG!

Starting July 1st you can no longer drive while holding your cell phone to your head in California. Oh you can still talk all you want (just as dangerous hands free as hands on). You can still text or dial your phone with your hand (supremely dangerous). But you can't hold a phone to your head and speak into it.

You can, however, take all the photos you want with it. On Lyle's ride home from work tonight he came across this:A car accident had sheered off a fire hydrant. It must have just happened as no police were anywhere to be found. But Lyle did say many good Samaritans were out with their cameras taking all sorts of footage. None of them was directing traffic away from the site... so Lyle drove right by and took another picture:
But the he said the whole scene just got a little crazy and he had to actually focus on driving. And feeling the street rumbling beneath the car. And realizing now that he is home, that driving so close to all of that probably wasn't such a brilliant plan after the fact.

George Michael

Fine. I uploaded my camera contents today and found these photos I took while at the George Michael concert. So I will share them with you. This was our view from our seats before the show started. The tickets said show starts promptly at 8 pm, no opening act. Luckily it started promptly at 8:45 because we weren't even in the parking lot until 8:20. The Forum in Inglewood SUCKS for traffic and parking.

Can you believe I spent an extra $40 to join the fan club to get tickets three days ahead of everyone else and this was the best I could get? Oh yeah, and friends got tickets the DAY OF the concert and they were across the aisle and one row further down. SAME PRICE.

All is forgiven as that tiny black dot in the middle of the light emerges.

George Michael has a bad case of the "Diana Ross Syndrome" "Now YOU sing!" (see, he is holding the microphone out at the audience.) I did not pay all this money to hear the crowd around me sing all night. What, you can't remember the words? They're on those teleprompters right there in front of you...

But then for his finale he changed into a cop outfit and sang the disco hit "Outside. All was once again forgiven.

blah, blah, blah

I'm busy. But nothing of note to put on here.

Lyle injured his hoof last weekend and has been unable to drive a car this week. So today will be my second trip to the Valley this week, it keeps me away from my office and also this blog.

We tore out the brick fireplace in the living room. I have photos and intended a long and gracious post about how we transformed something hideous into something fab. Now if the Fabulous part would just speed up and get finished I could post all that.

Other things going on:
New Espresso Machine
Painting a chair rail in dining room
Still riding that bike
Tanning
Eating

Hope that holds everyone for now.
