Not Cool, French Vogue...Not Cool.
Here are a few pictures from a spread in the October issue of French Vogue, where Dutch model Lara Stone is posed in what has been called "contemporary Blackface". The issue is said to be dedicated to supermodels but lacks diversity. Well, if you call painting Stone black, diversity...be my guest. Shot by Steven Klein and styled by Carine Roitfeld, Stone wears ethnic clothing with an evil look on her face.
I don't like it one bit.
I don't understand why the team over at French Vogue felt this was in any way a good idea. It's like there are no standards of social decorum when it comes to fashion, when there should be.
